To the Editor:
A very special thank you to the people of Troy who supported the fund raiser for Pam Klatte on Sat. June 21, 2014. Your generosity and kindness have been overwhelming.
Many people sent donations to the U.S. Bank of Troy for the Klatte Fund and others purchased tickets as a donation or attend the Klate Fund Rasing Party last Saturday at Shady Springs Stables. However you helped, we sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness.
This fund raising party couldn’t have been possible without Clarice and Dave Francis generously donating their beautiful stables and farm to have the party. They spent so much time and effort getting the stables ready for the fund raiser and we certainly do appreciate all their efforts. There were approximately 400 people who visited with Pam and Joe Klatte at the party.
So many donations came from the business people in Troy who were kind enough to give us their help. Our thanks to Tony Cockerham of Western Ohio Graphics for the tickets, Matt Roop, for the music, Joe Dickerson of Koverman - Dickerson Insurance, Scott and Julie McMiller for the fire pitt pizza oven, Mike Sells Inc. for the potato chips, Jill Hartman for table decorations, TriVista for the flyers and advertising, Troy Daily News for writing a story about Pam, Troy Sports Center, The Cakery and the Troy auto dealers for selling tickets to the fund raiser.
Our silent auction was fun and had great gifts to bid on. Thanks to all who donated and purchased items. Cookies were made by some of our “great bakers” and we certainly appreciate your willingness to bake for the party. To all the other people who gave us their time and help, we are so grateful.
It takes many people to plan a fund raiser but having an outstanding committee made it so much easier. Those on the committees were Heather Beeler, Marcella Howard, Carla Lohrer, Sally Wannemacher, Brenda Ingle, Pat Penny and Cheryl Cotner.
My special thanks to my husband, Ted, for all the times he had to listen to my ideas and for the help he so generously gave me.
It was a great fund raising party and best of all, we helped a wonderful lady who is one of the kindest, most caring and loving people I have ever been blessed to know…Pam Klate.
