Dec. 7

Piqua Central Intermediate School, 807 Nicklin Ave., Piqua. Violations/comments: Satisfactory at time of inspection.

Heritage Catering, 1714 Commerce Drive, Piqua. Violations/comments: The plumbing for the dishwasher was leaking. Repair.

China Garden Buffet, 1284 E. Ash St., Piqua. Violations/comments: Observed cracked cutting boards. These must be smooth and easily cleanable. Cracks provide places for bacterial harborage. Observed signs of mice in storeroom. Take steps to remove – traps, exterminator, etc.

Dec. 13

Waffle House, 1232 E. Ash St., Piqua. Violations/comments: Observed ready to eat TCS foods, i.e. cut lettuce, cut tomatoes, etc. without dates. All ready to eat TCS foods must be dated when opened or prepared. Discard after seven days. The following items need to be cleaned: pop machine, ceiling, “clean” utensils, drawers under grill, shelves in walk in. Remove items from facility that use no longer used or use not needed to help cleaning.

Dec. 12

Wal-Mart Super Center, 1300 E. Ash St., Piqua. Violations/comments: Provide proper towels at hand sink by deli. Keep these stocked at all times so hands can be washed. Corrected.

Edison State Snack Bar, 1973 Edison Drive, Piqua. Violations/comments: Provide sneeze guard for pizza serving line to protect food. Clean containers holding clean utensils. Corrected. The top of the garbage disposal is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Internet Cafe, 1973 Edison Drive, Piqua. Violations/comments: Satisfactory at time of inspection. Be sure to wash with soapy water, rinse with clear water and sanitize.

Dec. 14

Piqua Junior High School, 1 Tomahawk Trail, Piqua. Violations/comments: Satisfactory at time of inspection.

Buffalo Wings and Rings, 989 E. Ash St., Piqua. Violations/comments: Observed food not being held at proper temperatures. Chili and queso at 120 degrees, blue cheese at 55 degrees. Keep all TCS foods above 135 degrees or below 41 degrees at all times to prevent bacterial growth. Steam table setting was increased, Top layer of bleu cheese container removed. The equipment in the kitchen needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Specifically, the following items need to be washed, rinsed and sanitized – “clean” food containers, chicken prep init, ice machine interior, can opener, vegetable slicer, measuring spoons, rack by grill, sauce table, warmer, wing cooler. Repair damaged seal on salad prep so it seals tightly. Provide paper towels and soap at all hand sinks. All hand sinks must be available to wash hands. Water pressure at hand sink very low. Repair. Stainless steel cleaner stored above prep area. Do not store chemicals where they can possibly contaminate foods. Corrected.

Super Station Inc., 8855 N. County Road 25A, Piqua. Violations/comments: Date TCS ready to eat foods, i.e., cut lettuce, cheese, with date opened. Discard after seven days. The following items need to be cleaned – small prep unit, pizza prep unit, hood, potato cutter, “clean” pans. Repair roof leak. Handle missing from the cold water on the hand sink. Replace/ repair. There are several pieces of unused equipment and other unused items in facility. Removed unused items to aid cleaning. Chemicals stored on prep table. Keep chemicals away from area where food is handled to prevent possible contamination.

Dec. 15

Red Lobster, 991 E. Ash St., Piqua. Violations/comments: The dial on the steam table on the grill line is missing. Replace so setting can be monitored. Items being washed in dishwasher were being stacked incorrectly. Spread items out so sanitizing water can reach all utensils being washed. Some of the clean food pans still had food debris. Be sure items are completely clean before being re-used.
