First UCC to serve pot pie supper Sept. 26
TROY — The women of First United Church of Christ will be serving a chicken pot pie supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the church, 120 S. Market St., Troy.
The supper includes chicken and pot pie, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, green beans, a variety of desserts and beverages. Admission is $8 a person while guests age 10 and under are $3.
Women’s Fellowship, who is sponsoring the event, uses these funds to assist with their support of community agencies such as Partners in Hope, Lincoln Center, recreation programs at the Troy Genesis Center, as well as the First UCC Backpack Program and Share-A-Meal.

GSLC to sponsor clothing drive Sept. 27
WEST MILTON — The Senior Shepherds of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are sponsoring a clothing drive to benefit The Clothesline, a non-profit organization providing new and gently used clothing, accessories and linens for the whole family at very reasonable prices and free of charge in emergency situations.
Anyone interested in donating may drop them off at the church between 2-4 p.m. Sept. 27 at the church, which is located at 1209 South Miami Street, West Milton.

TROY — Insights and trends about the current state of the church will be discussed during the program “Leaving God? Insights from Those Who’ve Walked Away From Church” at 7 p.m. on Sept 28 at Lifetree Cafe, located inside St. John’s United Church of Christ, 130 S. Walnut St., Troy

St. Patrick Church invites Catholics back
TROY — Catholic parishoners who have left the church are invited to come back and talk to rejoined parishoners about getting back into full, active service at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. The meetings will take place in the St. Patrick Parish Center at 444 E. Water St., Room 4, in Troy.
Pancake and sausage breakfast set Oct. 3
The Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ will hold a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 from 8:00 to 11:00 AM – Cost: Donations for our church organ repair. Our menu includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, juice, and coffee, tea, or milk. First UCC Share-A-Meal scheduled for Oct. 3
TROY — The First United Church of Christ’s Share-A-Meal will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the church, 120 S. Market St., Troy.
The Share-A-Meal is a program to reach out to the community by providing nourishing meals to anyone wishing to participate while providing an opportunity to socialize with others in the community. Please use the Canal Street entrance where we are handicapped accessible. Come join us the first Saturday of each month.
Artists sought for art show
WEST MILTON — Hoffman United Methodist Church is looking for applicants to take part in the ninth annual art show Oct. 2-4 in the activity center at 201 S. Main St., West Milton. The deadline for entering is September 14.
The purpose of the show is to share area talent with the public. The show is non-juried. Some pieces may be available for purchase, with transactions handled directly between the artist and the interested party.
A gift from local arts patron Bill Netzley of Netzley Roofing has enabled Hoffman to offer monetary awards again this year. Awards to be given are $500 for first place, $400 for second place, and $300 for third place. Seven additional awards of $100 each will also be presented. This year there will be a youth category open to current high school students with two $50 awards presented in that category.
Application forms may be picked up at the church office, Really Cool Stuff and The Hen’s Nest in West Milton, and The Hotel Gallery in Tipp City. Forms are also available for downloading from the church website at HoffmanUMC.org.
Support for parents, caregivers
TROY — Special seminar and support groups will be offered at St. Patrick Parish starting Sept. 9.
The church offers GriefShare for those who have lost loved ones through death. Two sessions are offered on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. in the Parish Center, 444 E. Water St., Troy.
These sessions are for patients, family and care givers. These support groups can be beneficial for those going through a tough time to help them feel they are not alone or their thoughts and feelings are not abnormal. Share with those dealing with the same situations and help each other through this time while learning ways to do it from the experts.
