To the Editor:
Nathan Johnson supports the Miami County Park District levy coming up in November. He stated the levy is vital to the continued growth and success of Miami County Parks, and to the health and well-being of our communities. In his recent Letter to the Editor, he failed to mention this new levy is NOT a renewal.
In fact, it is a new 1.5-mill operating levy to replace its current 1.1-mill levy. This new operating levy would raise $3.4 million per year or $1.1 million more than the current levy. As a result, taxpayers will be paying higher taxes, if this new Park District levy passes.
You now have additional information that you may wish to consider when voting in November.
