Reader responds to speed limit change

To the Editor:

In regards to the Dorset Road speed limits, a few things come to mind.

First, the reason the road changes from city to township so often is because land was pieced together a few years ago so they could run water out to Concord school from Troy. There was no intention to lower the speed limit.

Second, if there’s confusion about the speed limit, perhaps it’s because there are no speed limit signs posted. Drivers have no way of knowing what the limits are supposed to be. It’s also not posted each time you enter or leave the city limits. How could any reasonable person know what the speed limit is?

Thirdly, if the same engineers are working on this problem as worked on West Main Street, west of the interstate, there is little hope of improvement from their contributions.
