RIVERSIDE — Heading into Saturday’s showdown at Versailles, the Troy volleyball team continued to build up momentum.
The Trojans won their fourth straight Thursday night — and third in the last four days alone — improving to 8-2 on the season and 7-0 in Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division play with an American League crossover sweep at Stebbins, 25-7, 25-13, 25-16.
Troy travels to Versailles — which the Trojans last played in 2015, winning a tough match in five games — Saturday.
Miami East 3,
CASSTOWN — Miami East had little trouble extending its Cross County Conference winning streak Thursday against Bradford, winning 25-6, 25-10, 25-10.
Jonni Parker had 10 kills, eight aces, nine assists, two blocks and a dig and Kyndall Hellyer had eight kills, three aces and a dig to lead the Vikings (8-1). Sierra Kinnison added five kills and a block, Lydia Conley had four kills and a block, Kaitlyn Mack had three kills, an ace and an assist, Mikayla Schaffner had a kill, Sophie Jacomet had five aces, an assist and five digs, Anna Jacomet had three aces and a dig, Gabrielle Hawkins had an ace, an assist and four digs and Delaney Bourelle had a dig.
Bradford (1-12, 1-4 CCC) was led by Bianca Keener with three kills and a block.
Miami East hosts the Casstown Clash tournament Saturday.
FAIRBORN — Tippecanoe (10-1, 7-1 Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division) followed up its tough five-set victory over Butler the night before with a 25-17, 25-22, 25-8 sweep at Fairborn on Thursday.
Brooke Aselage had nine kills, Rachel Wildermuth had seven kills and three blocks and Natalie Seeman had four kills to lead the Red Devils’ offense. Isabel Crow had 20 assists, Anna Gilliam had three assists, Cali Stewart had two blocks, Corinn Siefring had 10 digs and five aces, Audrey Trick had two aces and five digs and Abby Hughes had eight digs.
Tippecanoe hosts Kenton Ridge Monday.
NEW LEBANON — The Milton-Union Bulldogs (7-3, 5-0 Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division) were able to stay unbeaten in division play Thursday night, holding off Dixie in four on the road, 25-19, 26-24, 22-25, 26-24.
The Bulldogs travel to Franklin Monroe Saturday.
PLEASANT HILL — The Newton Indians had to work hard to pick up a Cross County Conference win over visiting Ansonia Thursday night, claiming victory in five, 25-23, 19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-13.
Maddie Hildebrand had nine kills and 20 digs, Alicia Dunning had five blocks, Alyssa Rapp had 22 digs and Kacie Tackett had 22 assists on the night.
Franklin Monroe 3,
COVINGTON — The Covington Buccaneers fought hard for three sets Thursday in a Cross County Conference matchup against Franklin Monroe, but it all fell apart in the fourth in a 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-9 loss at home.
Legend Patty had 14 kills and six digs, Breanna Kimmel had 11 kills, 14 digs and two aces, Lillian Hamilton had six kills and two blocks, Makenna Gostomsky had four kills and 11 digs, Lindsey Kimmel had 33 assists and three kills, Lauren Christian had two aces and Maci White had six digs.
Covington (5-4, 5-1 CCC) hosts Fairlawn Monday.

XENIA — The Troy girls soccer team couldn’t get its offense going Thursday night against Greater Western Ohio Conference American South Division leader Xenia, and the Buccaneers scored a goal in the game’s final minute to steal a 2-1 victory from the Trojans (4-3, 4-1 GWOC American North Division) on the road.
Xenia (4-4, 3-3 GWOC American South) led 1-0 at halftime before Troy’s Julianna Williams tied the score with roughly 31 minutes to go. But Amara Shepherd scored the game-winning goal with less than a minute to play, handing the Trojans a crossover loss as they head into division play next week.
Troy returns home Monday to host Greenville in its GWOC American North opener.
NEW LEBANON — Kristen Dickison had a hat trick Thursday night, leading the Milton-Union Bulldogs (7-2, 3-1 Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division) to a 5-0 victory at Dixie.
In addition to Dickison’s three goals, Beyonce Bobbitt and Lizzy Oaks each had a goal, with Morgan Grudich, Caitlin Jones, Karissa Baird, Hallie Berberich and Bree Nevels each had an assist.
Milton-Union travels to Waynesville Tuesday.

CASSTOWN — Miami East’s home game against Cross County Conference foe National Trail was postponed Thursday night. It was rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 2.

GREENVILLE — Troy’s boys soccer game at Greenville, the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division opener for the Trojans, was postponed Thursday night. It will now be played at 6 p.m. Oct. 12.
TIPP CITY — The reigning Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division champion Tippecanoe Red Devils opened up division play Thursday night with a convincing 6-0 victory over Sidney at home.
Andrew DeBrosse had two goals and Ben Sauls, Wanderly Lopez Ebanks, Payton Bonifas and Caiden Smith each had goals in the game as the Devils (7-1, 6-0 GWOC American North) won their fourth straight and posted their fourth shutout of the season.
Tippecanoe travels to Piqua Tuesday.
WEST MILTON — Milton-Union’s Keltonn Dillhoff scored both goals and Josh Daum had an assist Thursday night, leading the Bulldogs (7-1, 3-1 Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division) to a 2-0 victory over Dixie.

WEST MILTON — The Milton-Union boys golf team finished dual play in the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division Thursday night with a 5-1 record and atop the division, defeating Madison 188-203 for its third straight win.
Hayden Davidson led the Bulldogs with a 44, Aaron Brown shot 47, Josh Strader shot 48 and Max Grafflin shot 49.

GREENVILLE — Newton’s Chet Jamison shot 37 for medalist honors Thursday at White Springs Golf Course as the Indians picked up another Cross County Conference win, 171-222 over Mississinawa Valley.
Drew Thiesing shot 43 for the Indians, Garrett Peters shot 44, Ross Ferrell and Nate Zielinski both shot 44s and Ryan Mollette shot 50.

RICHMOND, Ind. — Miami East improved to 8-2 in Cross County Conference play Thursday, going to Highland Lake Golf Course to defeat National Trail 182-206.
Zac Johnson shot 38 for medalist honors for the Vikings, Sam Zapadaka shot 47, Austin Parsons shot 48 and Jack Runner shot 49.

PIQUA — Andrew Slusher shot a 37 for medalist honors at Echo Hills Thursday as Covington held off Franklin Monroe 186-195.

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Miami East girls golf team took sole possession of first place in the Cross County Conference Tuesday, defeating National Trail 199-216 at Highland Lake Golf Course.
Paige Lawson shot 48 to lead the Vikings (8-4, 5-0 CCC), Emily Rowley and Marissa Kearns shot 50s, Kearsten Kirby shot 54 and Annelise Logan shot 64.
TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe tennis team picked up a 4-1 victory over Beavercreek’s B team Thursday, improving to 9-4 on the season.
At first singles, Amelia Zweizig won 6-4, 6-2. At second singles, Dakota Schroeder won 6-1, 6-2. At third singles, Sophia McDowell won 6-0, 6-1. At second doubles, Annie Livesay and Tasha Bruner won 6-3, 6-3.
At first doubles, Jordan Jones and Claire Wint lost 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
WEST MILTON — On Senior Night, the Milton-Union Bulldogs cruised to an easy 5-0 victory over Waynesville Thursday in Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division play.
At first singles, Hannah Fugate won 7-6 (4), 6-1. At second singles, Abby Hissong won 6-0, 6-1. At third singles, Hailey Lauterbur won by default. At first doubles, Caitlin Bushelman and Laura Billing won 6-1, 6-0. At second doubles, Rachel Rock and Meredith Fitch won 6-0, 6-0.
BELLEFONTAINE — Lehman improved to 3-9 on the season Thursday, going on the road and defeating Bellefontaine 4-1.
At first singles, Claire Larger won 6-2, 6-0. At third singles, Melanie Brunner won 6-2, 6-2. At first doubles, Angela Brunner and Grace Brandt won 6-2, 7-6. At second doubles, Kiera Burns and Ann Pennaparra won 6-4, 6-4.
At second singles, Sarah Gibson lost 6-1, 6-2.
VANDALIA — Troy’s Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division match at Butler was postponed on Thursday. It was rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 20.
