MIAMI COUNTY — With a combined six out of eight possible division championships, it’s impossible to deny that Troy and Tippecanoe’s fall sports teams dominated the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division this season.

Making the conference’s postseasons awards no surprise.

The two schools combined to win four GWOC American North Division Athlete of the Year awards, and the Trojans grabbed five Coach of the Year awards when the conference announced its All-GWOC teams following fall season’s completion.

In volleyball, Troy’s Camryn Moeller was named GWOC American North Division Athlete of the Year, sharing the award with Piqua’s Kelsey Magoteaux, and Michelle Owen was named Coach of the Year, sharing the award with Piqua’s Liana Michael. It was Moeller’s first Athlete of the Year award, as well as the sixth consecutive year a Troy player has won the honor. Owen, meanwhile, won her sixth straight Coach of the Year award.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Moeller and Dana Wynkoop and Tippecanoe’s Isabel Crow and Rachel Wildermuth. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Lauren Schmitz and Brianna Slusher and Tippecanoe’s Cali Stewart and Brooke Aselage. Earning special mention was Troy’s Alexa Holland.

Troy’s Moeller and Tippecanoe’s Crow also both earned spots on the all-conference team.

In boys soccer, Tippecanoe’s Caiden Smith was named North Division Athlete of the Year, while Troy’s Richard Phillips was named Coach of the Year. Phillips collected his 300th career win early in the fall and now sits at 305 in his career.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Connor Hubbell, Joey Sheehan and Reece Sherman and Tippecanoe’s Smith, Payton Bonifas, Miles McClurg and Michael Pfister. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Bailey Webb and Elijah Williams and Tippecanoe’s Andrew DeBrosse, Mason McClurg, Alex Rittenhouse and Ben Sauls. Earning special mention were Troy’s Alex Bridge and Tippecanoe’s Matt Hinkle.

Tippecanoe’s Smith also earned a spot on the all-conference team.

In girls soccer, Troy’s Michael Rasey was named North Division Coach of the Year.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Kiyha Adkins, Kenzie Evans, Molly Miller and Julianna Williams and Tippecanoe’s Claire Hinkle, Lauren Lester and Lauren Weimer. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Josalyn Abrams and Hannah Widener and Tippecanoe’s Hannah Rittenhouse and Lauren Robbins. Earning special mention were Troy’s Laura Borchers, Megan Malott and Olivia Westfall and Tippecanoe’s Makayla Stallard, Allie Wasson and Payton Willis.

Troy’s Evans and Miller and Tippecanoe’s Lester also earned spots on the all-conference team.

In boys cross country, Tippecanoe’s Bryce Conley was the North Division Athlete of the Year.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Andy Smith and Tippecanoe’s Conley, Ethan Heitkamp, Brennan Larned and Austin Rogers. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Josh Lovitt and Austin Zonner and Tippecanoe’s Ethan Sinning.

Conley also earned a spot on the all-conference team.

In girls cross country, Troy’s Morgan Gigandet won the North Division Athlete of the Year for the third straight year, and Kevin Alexander was named the Coach of the Year, his fourth consecutive award.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Gigandet, Megan Myers, Kate Pence, Emma Shigley and Olivia Tyre and Tippecanoe’s Jillian Brown, Makenzie Dietz, Mackenzie Dix, Stephanie Fink and Katie Taylor. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Dinah Gigandet and Chloe Klawon and Tippecanoe’s Laura Fink and Anna Martino. Troy’s Jaclyn Smith earned special mention.

Troy’s Gigandet also earned a spot on the all-conference team.

In boys golf, Troy’s Mark Evilsizor won the North Division Coach of the Year.

On the All-GWOC American League first team were Troy’s Holden Scribner, Connor Stoltz and Nate Uhlenbrock and Tippecanoe’s Nathan Gagnon. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Travis Bertram and Nathan Henderson and Tippecanoe’s Austin Post and Sam Weatherly. Troy’s Zac Collin also earned special mention.

Troy’s Uhlenbrock also earned a spot on the all-conference team.

In girls golf, Tippecanoe’s Taylor Hudson was named to the All-GWOC American League first team. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Camryn Spencer and Paige Stuchell and Tippecanoe’s Marissa Miller and Lydia Stueve. Troy’s Riley Johnson also earned special mention.

In tennis, Troy’s Katie Sherrick and the doubles team of Jackie Fulker and Hailey Taylor earned spots on the All-GWOC American League first team, as did Tippecanoe’s Amelia Zweizig. Earning spots on the second team were Troy’s Emma Kazmaier, Tippecanoe’s Sophia McDowell and the Red Devils’ doubles team of Jordan Jones and Claire Wint. Earning special mention were Troy’s Mackenzie Nosker and Tippecanoe’s Dakota Schroeder.
