Eagles, Bulldogs rake in all-league honors

TROY — Troy Christian’s Colt Tanner and Jeff Daniels took home top honors when the Metro Buckeye Conference announced its all-league awards following the completion of the fall season as the Eagles followed a solid campaign with a pile of awards.

In boys soccer, Tanner was named the MBC Athlete of the Year.

Tanner, Andrew Strait and Jared Trimbach earned spots on the All-MBC first team. Kevin Smith and Jacob Wynne earned spots on the second team. Riley Hall earned the Coaches award, and Sam Mathews earned the Sportsmanship award.

In boys cross country, Daniels won the MBC Coach of the Year award.

Zach Davidson, Nick Pratt and Robert Ventura earned spots on the All-MBC first team. Isaac Flora, Zach Hunnicutt and Aiden Tkach earned spots on the second team. Maxwell Zawatsky won the Coaches award and Aiden Tkach won the Sportsmanship award.

In girls soccer, Lauren Moritz, Cara Salazar, Lexi Salazar and Riley Spoltman earned spots on the All-MBC first team. Ryann Spoltman and Morgan Taylor earned spots on the second team. Abby Toms earned the Sportsmanship award.

In volleyball, Kathryn Lee and Brittany Swartz earned spots on the All-MBC first team. Ellie Smith earned a spot on the second team. Brittany Swartz earned the Sportsmanship award.

In boys golf, Kyle Ward was named to the All-MBC first team. Tyler Jackson and Brandon Kreger earned spots on the second team. Zach Grise won the Sportsmanship award.

In girls cross country, Sophie Pitsenbarger earned a spot on the All-MBC second team. Rachel Plummer earned the Sportsmanship award.

WEST MILTON — Milton-Union’s boys soccer team followed its best season in years with its coach Todd Winchester earning top honors, while freshman Morgan Grudich burst onto the scene to capture the top newcomer award as the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division announced its all-league teams following the completion of the fall season.

In boys soccer, Winchester was named SWBL Buckeye Division Coach of the Year in only his second year with the team.

Earning spots on the All-SWBL Buckeye Division first team were Keltonn Dilhoff and Josh Daum. Earning spots on the second team were Avery Creech, Trevor Grile and Blake Ullery. Earning honorable mention were Sam Motz and Wenoir Walton.

In girls soccer, Grudich won the Newcomer of the Year award.

Grudich was also named to the All-SWBL Buckeye first team along with teammate Kristen Dickison. Earning spots on the second team were Hallie Berberich and Morgan Nemeth. Earning honorable mention were Ellie Cooper and Izzy Morter.

The girls cross country team led the way in All-SWBL Buckeye first teamers with five — Brianna Collins, Kiley Jacobe, Kyli Parsons, Rachel Thompson and Micah Tracy. Ally Lyons, Kelsie Tomlinson and Megan Trittschuh earned spots on the second team, and Laura Billing earned honorable mention.

The boys cross country team had three All-SWBL Buckeye honorees — Will Brock, Shannon Milnickel and Tristen Persinger. Earning spots on the second team were Danny Booker, Cayden Galentine, Harrison Litton, Chris Miller and Ryan Moore. Earning honorable mention were Jake Palmisano and Drew Shearer.

In tennis, Hannah Fugate and Abby Hissong both earned spots on the All-SWBL Buckeye first team. Earning spots on the second team were Meredith Fitch and the doubles team of Caitlin Bushelman and Laura Billing, and earning honorable mention was the doubles team of Rachel Rock and Madison Silveria.

In football, Zac Shields earned a spot on the All-SWBL Buckeye first team. Earning spots on the second team were Robbie Grove, Garrett Setser and Kayge Thwaits. Earning honorable mention were Ethan Dahle and Tommy Gauvey.

In volleyball, Abbie Goudy was named All-SWBL first team, Olivia Brown earned a spot on the second team and Chloe Fogle and Morgan Magel earned honorable mention.

In boys golf, Hayden Davidson earned a spot on the All-SWBL Buckeye first team. Justin Brown earned a spot on the second team and Aaron Brown earned honorable mention.
