MIAMI COUNTY — Miami County’s volleyball and soccer teams had another wildly successful fall season.

So it was no surprise when the area’s teams brought home a whopping 14 nominations when the All-Ohio teams were announced following the season’s competition — with three volleyball players and 11 soccer players collecting honors.

* Volleyball

Miami East’s Jonni Parker was named Division III All-Ohio first team for the third consecutive season, while teammate Kyndall Hellyer earned a spot on the second team.

In D-IV, Lehman’s Olivia Lucia earned All-Ohio honorable mention.

The All-District 9 volleyball awards were also announced.

In D-I, Troy’s Camryn Moeller was named the Player of the Year, with Moeller, Dana Wynkoop and Brianna Slusher and Piqua’s Kelsey Magoteaux all earned spots on the first team. Troy’s Lauren Schmitz and Piqua’s Lauren Williams and Tylah Yeomans were named second team.

In D-II, Tippecanoe’s Isabel Crow was named all-district first team, Cali Stewart and Rachel Wildermuth were named second team and Brooke Aselage earned honorable mention.

In D-III, Miami East’s Parker was named Player of the Year and Dan Peterson was named Coach of the Year. Parker and Hellyer earned all-district first team, Miami East’s Sophie Jacomet, Bethel’s Alaina Hawthorn, Covington’s Legend Patty and Milton-Union’s Abbie Goudy were named second team and Covington’s Lindsey Kimmel and Milton-Union’s Olivia Brown earned honorable mention.

In D-IV, Lehman’s Lucia was named all-district first team, Lehman’s Alexis Snipes was named second team and Newton’s Kacie Tackett, Troy Christian’s Kathryn Lee and Brittany Swartz and Lehman’s Maddy McFarland earned honorable mention.

* Soccer

Tippecanoe’s boys and girls soccer teams each brought home one All-Ohio first team nod in Division II — Caiden Smith on the boys side and Lauren Weimer on the girls side.

In D-III boys soccer, Bethel’s Korry Hamlin was named All-Ohio first team, while teammate Tyler Brueckman earned a spot on the second team. Also earning spots on the second team were Milton-Union’s Josh Daum, Troy Christian’s Colt Tanner and Lehman’s Jake Emrick.

In D-III girls soccer, Milton-Union’s Kristen Dickison and Lehman’s Molly Safreed earned spots on the All-Ohio second team.

In D-I, Troy’s boys and girls teams each brought home one All-Ohio second team nod — Joey Sheehan on the boys side and Kenzie Evans on the girls side.

The Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (MVSSCA) also released its all-area and All-Southwest District awards.

On the boys side in D-I, Troy’s Sheehan was named to the all-district team.

In D-II, Tippecanoe’s Caiden Smith was named the all-district Player of the Year and was joined on the all-district team by teammate Miles McClurg.

In D-III, Bethel’s Bob Hamlin was named Coach of the Year. Bethel’s Korry Hamlin and Brueckman, Troy Christian’s Tanner, Milton-Union’s Daum, Miami East’s Dalton Taynor and Lehman’s Emrick were all named to the all-district team.

On the girls side in D-I, Troy’s Evans was named to the all-district team.

In D-II, Tippecanoe’s Weimer and Lauren Lester were named to the all-district team.

In D-III, Troy Christian’s Brian Peters was named Private School Coach of the Year. Milton-Union’s Dickison and Lehman’s Safreed were named to the all-district team.

The MVSSCA’s all-area teams were also announced.

In boys D-I North, first team selections were: Troy’s Sheehan and Reece Sherman and Piqua’s Cade Lyman. Second team selections were: Troy’s Bailey Webb and Piqua’s Kaden Jones. Third team selections were: Troy’s Connor Hubbell, Elijah Williams and Elijah Sadler and Piqua’s Brandon Grissom, Rob Comstock and Jarret Powers.

In boys D-II North, first team selections were: Tippecanoe’s Smith and McClurg. Second team selections were: Tippecanoe’s Alex Rittenhouse and Payton Bonifas. Third team selections were: Tippecanoe’s Andrew DeBrosse and Michael Pfister.

In boys D-III East, first team selections were: Troy Christian’s Tanner and Jared Trimbach and Lehman’s Emrick. Second team selections were: Troy Christian’s Andrew Strait and Lehman’s Michael Denning. Third team selections were: Troy Christian’s Kevin Smith, Tristan Miller and Jacob Wynne and Lehman’s Ryan and Christian Goettemoeller.

in boys D-III West, Bethel’s Bob Hamlin was named Coach of the Year. First team selections were: Bethel’s Korry Hamlin and Brueckman, Milton-Union’s Daum and Keltonn Dillhoff and Miami East’s Taynor. Second team selections were: Bethel’s Daniel Ross and Alex van Haaren, Milton-Union’s Blake Ullery, Miami East’s Connor Wilson and Newton’s Rick Landwehr. Third team selections were: Bethel’s Joe Miller and Nick Schmidt, Miami East’s Jackson Davis and Colton Weldy, Milton-Union’s Trevor Grile, Weaver Walton and Avory Creech and Newton’s John Laughman.

In girls D-I North, Troy’s Michael Rasey was named Coach of the Year. First team selections were: Troy’s Evans and Molly Miller and Piqua’s Grace Jennings. Second team selections were: Troy’s Julianna Williams and Kiyha Adkins and Piqua’s Makenzie Ellerman and Hailey McPherson. Third team selections were: Troy’s Josalyn Abrams and Piqua’s Taylor Grunkemeyer.

In girls D-II North, Tippecanoe’s Brandon Baker was named Coach of the Year. First team selections were: Tippecanoe’s Weimer, Lester and Claire Hinkle. Second team selections were: Tippecanoe’s Allie Wasson and Mackenzie Weaver. Third team selections were: Courtney Ryan.

In girls D-III North, Troy Christian’s Brian Peters was named Private School Coach of the Year. First team selections were: Troy Christian’s Riley Spoltman and Lehman’s Safreed. Second team selections were: Troy Christian’s Lauren Moritz, Miami East’s Hailey Weaver, Newton’s Paiton Miller, Bethel’s Olivia Rust and Lehman’s Camille Brown. Third team selections are: Troy Christian’s Cara Salazar, Lexi Salazar and Ryann Spoltman, Bethel’s Margaret Kahler, Machaella Staggs and Darani Wenrick, Newton’s Morgan Robbins and Baily Cheney, Miami East’s Savannah Nehring, Emily Adkins and Whitley Gross and Lehman’s Grace Monnin, Abby Jones and Ava Behr.

In girls D-III South, first team selections were: Milton-Union’s Dickison and Morgan Grudich. Second team selections were: Milton-Union’s Hallie Berberich. Third team selections were: Milton-Union’s Morgan Nemeth and Karissa Baird.
