NEW CARLISLE — Tippecanoe’s girls basketball team finally ran into an obstacle it couldn’t clear.
The Red Devils held the high-powered Tecumseh offense well under its scoring average for the season, but the Arrows’ two biggest weapons — Lindsey Nartker and Corinne Thomas — still did plenty of damage in a 66-48 Tippecanoe loss in Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division play Wednesday night.
Nartker scored 26 points and Thomas hit six 3s and added 22 points as the undefeated Arrows (6-0, 3-0 CBC Kenton Trail) built a 33-22 halftime lead.
That’s where the gap stayed as the Devils (5-2, 2-1 CBC Kenton Trail) played even with the Arrows in the third, but Tecumseh — which averages 83.2 points per game — outscored Tippecanoe 15-8 in the fourth to put the game away.
Aubrey Cox led the Devils with 13 points, Sammie Rowland scored nine, Allison Mader eight and Cassidy Wasson, Kelsey Wertz and Taylor Prall each scored six.
It was the Devils’ first loss in CBC Kenton Trail play since Feb. 8, 2014.
Tippecanoe travels to Indian Lake Saturday.
