TROY — Defense led the way for the Troy offense in a 31-6 win over Sidney Friday at Troy Memorial Stadium.

Troy’s defense gave up just seven downs and 127 yards in total offense. It also held Sidney star running back Isaiah Bowser — who came into the game averaging 185.5 rushing yards per game — to just 51 yards on the ground. It was the first time any team had held Bowser under 100 yards for the season.

With the win, Troy improved to 7-1 (3-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division), while Sidney fell to 3-5 (0-3).

Troy travels to Greenville this coming Friday.
