Barhorst’s 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Burritt’s 65-yarder in the second put the Devils up 14-0, but the Skyhawks tied the score at halftime. Barhorst then caught a touchdown pass from Detwiller early in the third, but Tippecanoe missed the extra point and held only a six-point lead.

Wesley Watts hit Shaunn Monroe with a 27-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, and Fairborn cashed in the extra point to take a 21-20 lead heading into the final quarter. But Smith redeemed himself with a 33-yard go-ahead field goal, and Tippecanoe’s defense held on from there.
