MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Troy High School graduate Matt Barr, a true freshman quarterback at Robert Morris University, was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for his efforts this past weekend.
Barr completed 20 of 31 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns while leading to the Colonials to a 21-9 victory over East Tennessee State.
With his team trailing with less than four minutes to play in the game, Barr completed an 84-yard touchdown pass for the go-ahead score. The play was the fourth-longest pass in school history, the longest ever in a Robert Morris non-conference game and the longest in 11 years for the Colonials.
With the win, Robert Morris improved to 3-6. The Colonials travel to Saint Francis Saturday for the penultimate game of the season.
BOWLING GREEN — Ouellette, a Covington High School graduate and sophomore running back on the Ohio University football team, had seven carries for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Bobcats’ 62-24 loss to Bowling Green State University last week.
Ouellette also had one catch for 5 yards.
With the loss, Ohio University fell to 5-3 (2-3 in the Mid-American Conference). The Bobcats hosted Kent State University Tuesday night in a game that was not finished in time for this edition.
NORMAN, Okla. — Dalton, a Troy High School graduate and redshirt freshman offensive guard for the University of Oklahoma football team, saw extensive playing time in the Sooners’ 52-16 win over Iowa State last weekend.
With the win, Oklahoma improved to 8-1 (5-1 in the Big 12). The Sooners travel to Baylor Saturday.
