TippCityCLOSEUP

Tipp City has always been a town based around transportation. From its beginnings as a town along the Miami-Erie Canal with its canal lock and roller mill, then a railroad town, and now a town close to the vital intersection of I-70 and I-75, Tipp City has always been a town people have passed through. Of course some of those people decided to jump off the boat, train, or bus and stick around.

Today, Tipp City is both traditional and diverse. The town benefits from being surrounded by vibrant farm county, and companies that have been around for generations. At the same time, new businesses and new construction have helped bring new people to the area and keep the economy strong.

The city's 19th Century downtown draws families and antique shoppers from around the region. The historic homes and Tipp Roller Mill made a perfect backdrop for the Canal Days celebration. Thanks to Spring Hill Nurseries - one of the counties leading mail order flower companies Tipp City has long been known for its long-running Tipp City Mum Festival. The festivities take place in the city park, and there is a large parade.

Monthly Community Nights bring people together for indoor and outdoor activities, and every November, "A Winter's Gathering" re-creates a Victorian Christmas in and around the downtown area with carolers, decorations and carriage rides.

Along with expanding subdivisions, the city has added to its' city park system, and a new City Hall recently was constructed.

Though Tipp City honors its past, it seems more than ready to embrace the 21st Century.
