TROY — One of the newest additions to the downtown landscape, ReU Juicery & Organic Kitchen offers raw, organic, and locally sourced juices and smoothies.
“This is a good launching point for healthier habits,” owner Amber Sowers said.
The Troy resident has been pressing and blending raw, organic juice for about four years — first at events with tables and a tent and then operating a food truck.
“We built this business through small, steady growth,” she said.
With the opening of a “grab and go” location at 3 E. Main St. on the public square in December, the juicery now has a brick and mortar location.
“The community has been very welcoming,” she said, adding that ReU Juicery has been regularly selling out of stock. They were also recently named the best juice bar in the Miami Valley by Dayton Magazine.
Sowers first got into juicing to explore its health benefits for herself and her family. Now she helps others decide which options would be most beneficial for them.
Her juice blends pack about 4 pounds of produce into each 16 ounce bottle, and each offers a different mixture of vitamins and minerals.
“It’s very highly concentrated,” she said. Sowers uses a hydraulic press to get the most out the produce.
There are no additives in any of the products ReU Juicery offers — the only ingredients are what’s listed on the menu, she said.
The menu includes juice blends, dairy-free nut milks, protein shakes, superfood smoothies, and custom juice cleanses. Sowers always uses natural sweetener options — like medjool dates and raw honey — rather than white sugar.
In addition to health and wellness, ReU Juicery is also committed to being environmentally friendly. Everything is bottled in glass and there is a bottle credit for returning empty bottles.
