May 20

PATIO FURNITURE GONE: An officer was dispatched to 34 Elmwood Ave., in reference to a theft offense. The reisdent said sometime overnight her patio furniture was stolen. She said her dog was barking sometime around 2-3 a.m. and suspects that when the theft occurred.

The patio furniture was on the deck at the rear of the house. The patio furniture was rot iron and is dark brown. There were two chairs, a love seat size chair and a coffee table with a glass top.

WARRANTS: Darke County Sheriff’s Office had Scott A. Williams in custody. The officer checked Scott and saw where he had warrants for a misdemeanor theft and a felony theft out of Miami County.

The officer then transported Scott to the Miami County Incarceration Facility where he was turned over to C.O. Sgt. Coates and incarcerated on his warrants. A copy of the warrants will be placed in the case file.

May 21

DRUGS: On the listed date time and location the suspect was stopped for riding his bike on the sidewalk. He was found to have a warrant and marijuana. After the warrant was confirmed the suspect was arrest and transported to the IF. All of the suspect’s property was turned over to a friend.

WARRANT: Officers responded to 101 Ash Street at the rear apartment to attempt to serve an arrest warrant on Jesse A. Kirby. Shanda Kirby answered the door and the officer asked her if Jesse was home and she advised that he was not. Shanda advised that he was in Springfield. The officer asked her if he still lived here and she said, “Not really.”

Ptl. Ross then advised that he saw someone in the front bedroom and the officer asked Shanda who else was inside and she said, “No one.” Ptl. Ross then advised her that someone was in the front bedroom because he had saw them. The officer asked Shanda if they could look and she let me inside. She walked to the front bedroom and the officer could see someone hiding behind the door. Jesse then walked out from behind the door and into the living room. Jesse advised that he knew he had a warrant. Shanda advised that she did not know he was home because she was asleep and he had left earlier in the day. Dispatch advised that they were showing and active warrant for his arrest out of Miami County for drug abuse. Shanda was warned for obstruction and the officer then transported Jesse to the Miami County Incarceration Facility where he was turned over to C.O. Lt. Upham and incarcerated on his warrants.

May 22

OVI: A suspect was stopped for a traffic violation and was found to be intoxicated and arrested for OVI. The suspect also was a CCW holder and had a loaded firearm in the center console. The driver was charged with OVI, OVI over .170 percent, Left of Center and Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle.

At 931 McKaig Ave.,an officer came in contact with Michael Sousa reference an assist squad call.

As a result Sousa was charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of drug abuse instruments, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal use or possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.

May 24

PLATE GONE: Chelsea Lehman came to Troy police to report a theft of a license plate. Chelsea said the front Ohio License Plate “GHU3871” was stolen sometime during the listed times. The license plate was stolen from her 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that was parked at 29 S. Monroe St.

WARRANTS: Montgomery County had a Sharon L. Utley in custody on one or our warrants and she was ready for pickup. An officer then transported Sharon to the Miami County Jail where she was incarcerated and turned over to C.O. Carson. A copy of the warrant will be placed in the case file.

THEFT: An officer responded to the police department in reference to a theft complaint that occurred at 1471 S. Market St., Troy. Numerous items were taken, totaling $1858.98. This case is still under investigation.

THEFT: At 1801 W. Main Street (Walmart) an officer came in contact with Jarrid Stacy and Brett Kellems reference a theft in progress call. As a result, both were charged with theft.

OVI: Officers were dispatched to 2515 Thornhill Drive in reference to an overdose. A female was charged at the location.
