TROY — Delores “Jean” Crego (Bair) was born on July 25, 1928 to Gideon and Elsie Mae Bair in Troy, Ohio. She was raised on a 100 acre farm on Eldean Rd. in Troy, along with her five siblings, Arzella Lindscott (Bair), Anita Ditmer (Bair), Frank Bair, Leonard Bair and Bailey Bair.
Jean married Loren Crego in 1977. Jean has one daughter, Vicki Perry (McKee); three step-sons, David Crego, Daniel Crego and Dennis Crego; and six step-daughters, Teresa Wall (Crego), Kathy Couch (Crego), Cheryl Zerkle (Crego), Rose Crego, Jeanie Strickland (Crego), and Marcia Cole (Crego). All of these children have graced her with 10 granddaughters, 11 grandsons, 31 great-granddaughters, 17 great-grandsons, four great-great-granddaughters and five great-great-grandsons.
Over the years, Jean has worked at A.O. Smith in Tipp City (1950-1986) and Team Marketing in Troy/Piqua (1994 – 2006). Besides spending time with family, she enjoys golfing with her friends, square dancing, euchre, Mexican dominos, puzzles, traveling, laughing, and playing ornery tricks on people (Santa Claus).
