MIAMI COUNTY — The United States Marshals Service apprehended Eric Santos, age 21, in the Bronx in New York City this morning.
Santos was the fifth and final suspect who was wanted for his involvement in the Sept. 30, home invasion in Union Township. His last known address was in Dayton.
Santos will be facing felony charges of aggravated burglary with a firearm specification, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and felonious assault.
With Santos’s arrest, all suspects have now been apprehended. According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, he will face extradition to Miami County at some point in the near future.
On Sept. 30, a Union Township homeowner shot and wounded a suspect during an attempted home invasion. The homeowner reported that a group of men kicked in the door of his house and shot at him.
One suspect, Keason A. Twitty, was hospitalized after being shot and wounded during a confrontation with the owner of the home.
Another suspect, James Benton, turned himself in through his attorney in October. A third, Cory L. Dixon, was also apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service last month.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed their thanks to the U.S. Marshals Service, the public for all of the tips received, and the media for publicizing the warrants.
