Voter registration drive set

BETHEL TWP. — Bethel Local Schools is planning a voter registration drive and cookie swap for Saturday, Feb. 4.

Bethel school employees will be available to answer questions and assist community members, helping to simplify the voter registration process and “sweetening” the deal with cookies.

Drop in anytime between 10 a.m and 1 p.m. at the Bethel High School library and media center.

YMCA offers youth volleyball

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County YMCA is taking registrations for a third and fourth grade youth volleyball team at the Robinson Branch. This competitive league begins Feb. 14 for the third and fourth graders. This team participates in the Midwest Youth Volleyball League and competes in Tournaments on weekends beginning in late March. Team practice is on Tuesdays at the Robinson Branch from 6-7 p.m.

Due to the competitive nature of the program, it is encouraged for the players to also participate in the instructional classes.

Growers, farmers can learn about social media usage

TROY — OSU Extension will offer a workshop designed to help area produce growers and farmers market vendors utilize social media most effectively. The workshop utilizes media participants are currently using and focuses on strategies to enhance content management, customer engagement, expanding your reach, responding to reviews, enhancing photo and video content and maintaining relevancy in the fast pace world of social medial and online marketing.

The free session will be held on Wednesday, February 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the conference room at the Hobart Center for County Government, 510 Water St., Troy. Make a reservation to or by calling the Extension office at (937) 440-3945.

St. Patrick offering assessments

TROY — St. Patrick Catholic School will hold kindergarten assessments for the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday, March 21 in the Parish Center, 444 E. Water St., Troy. Children must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 30 to be eligible for Kindergarten.

The assessment is the first step for enrollment in our kindergarten program. Each assessment will take approximately 1 hour.
