Suspect in armed gas station robbery sought

TIPP CITY — Miami County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the armed robbery of the Gulf gas station on County Road 25A near Tipp City.

The robbery occurred Sunday night around 10 p.m. just before the store closed.

The suspect was described as a tall white male wearing a hoodie and a partial mask. He displayed a handgun, demanded money, and ordered the store’s two employees to lay on the floor.

“He had a handgun and was terrorizing the clerks,” Chief Deputy Dave Duchak said.

Investigators are working with other area police departments to determine if this incident is related to other robberies in the Miami Valley, Duchak said.

He added that investigators believe the suspect may have sat in his car outside the gas station for several minutes before the robbery.

If anyone in the area of the gas station Sunday night saw anything, investigators ask that they call the county’s non-emergency line (937) 440-9911.
