Benefit set for March 25

WEST MILTON — The VFW Post 8211 Auxiliary is preparing for their 29th annual Special Olympics Benefit, which will take place from 6-11 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the VFW post, located at 7874 State Route 48 in West Milton.

The benefit will include raffles of donated items, games, free door prizes, food and entertainment, as well as a cash raffle with prizes of $200 (first), $100 (second) and $50 (third).

The auxiliary is asking for help in providing gift items, gift certificates or monetary donations to make this year another successful fundraising event. All gifts and donations are tax-deductible.

The schedule of events includes:

• 6-7 p.m. — Magician

• 7-8 p.m. — 5 Point Cloggers

• 9-10 p.m. — ’50s-’90s sock hop

• 6-11 p.m. — DJ Rick

Monies raised help provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for local children and adult Special Olympic athletes. All proceeds go to Miami County Special Olympics, Riverside Developmental Disabilities (www.riversidedd.org).

Kalimba event cancelled at Hobart

TROY — Kalimba The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire scheduled for March 11 at Hobart Arena has been cancelled by the show promoter.

Full refunds are being issued to all ticket buyers. Tickets purchased by credit card have already been refunded back to the credit cards used to purchase tickets. All cash purchases must return their tickets to the Hobart Arena Ticket Office for a full cash refund. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and the second and fourth Saturday of each month 10 a.m. to noon.
