MIAMI COUNTY —The Troy Police Department has charged a 45-year-old Conover man with first-degree felony rape following an alleged date rape incident in Troy reported on March 10.
According to the police report, Carl Robinson, 45, admitted to detectives he did not cease sexual contact with the 49-year-old female victim after she repeatedly told him to stop. The incident occurred at the victim’s home, where the two met to watch a movie. The report states Robinson began sexual advances while on the couch in the living room and she repeatedly asked him to stop.
The report also states she walked away from the living room, where the advances had begun. The victim claims he followed her into the kitchen and allegedly raped her. The victim stated she didn’t want to cause a disturbance so her child would not wake up in the next room during the incident. The victim submitted a rape kit at the Upper Valley Medical Center. She also submitted text messages from Robinson to detectives.
Robinson was interviewed by detectives on March 14, and later admitted the victim “told him no ” before performing two sexual acts.
Robinson is currently incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. His bond was set for $100,000 in Miami County Municipal Court on Wednesday.
