MVCTC students compete at state

CLAYTON, Ohio — Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, and Hospitality Services students competed in the Ohio Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Competition on April 27-28, in Columbus. Many students qualified to represent Ohio at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference July 2-6, in Nashville, Tenn.

MVCTC students winning their state competition and qualifying for the National FCCLA Competition include:

• Early Childhood Education senior Alexis Adkins (Miami East) placed second at State FCCLA and received a gold rating in Chapter Service Display.

• Culinary Arts junior Katlyn Grisso (Milton-Union) placed second and received a gold rating in Pastry Tray.

The following MVCTC students placed at the State FCCLA Contest:

• Culinary Arts senior, Holly Green (Tippecanoe) received a gold rating in Creative Cakes.

• Culinary Arts junior, Katlyn Grisso (Milton-Union) received a silver rating in Product Development.
