Tour of Homes scheduled

TROY — The 27th annual Tour of Troy Homes, sponsored by the Museum of Troy History, will be from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 8.

The tour includes four homes in the Southwest Historic District. Tickets can be obtained from any board member, by calling 339-5155 or at the Museum of Troy History from 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at 124 E. Water St. Tickets are $10.

Board members include Doug Christian, Chad Monnin, Sandy Gurklies, Marty Baker, Marty Hobart, Mary Clevenger, and Doug Tremblay.

Cabaret & Cabernet event set

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will host a Cabaret & Cabernet with the David Wion Trio on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in a Broadway sing-a-long in the Hayner’s Ballroom complete with cabaret tables, hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks. Wine will be available for purchase.

Lyric sheets of all time favorite Broadway tunes will be provided for the sing-a-long. This musical evening is free and open to the public and is intended for an adult audience.

Moth walk offered

TIPP CITY — The Miami County Park District will hold a moth walk at 9 p.m. Sept. 22 at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Road, south of Tipp City. Join a park district naturalist and discover some of the most gorgeous nighttime critters, moths. A black light and sugar bait will be used to lure in these beautiful insects. This is the first of two moth walks this summer. Make sure to attend both as there will be different types of moths at the beginning and end of the season. 5K upcoming

TROY — The third annual Elks Care/Elks Share 5K will take place at 10 a.m. Sept. 24, starting and ending at the Brick Shelter in Troy Community Park.

Snacks, raffle, door prizes, and awards will be available immediately following the race. Medals will be awarded to first overall male and female finishers, top three male and females in each age category, and top three finishers in the wheelchair division and, the stroller division.

Register at or pick up a registration form at the Elks Lodge. Entry fee is $25.

Dine to donate

TROY — Help support wildlife at Brukner Nature Center by joining staff and volunteers at Buffalo Wild Wings, 2313 W. Main St., Troy, from 5-9 p.m. Sept. 26.
