Artisan showcase Oct. 21

TIPP CITY — The 12th annual Autumn Artisans Showcase, featuring handmade items from local artists, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Monroe Grange on Peters Road in Tipp City.

The show features fiber arts, jewelry, lapidary, woodcrafts, glass and polymer clay. Homemade food from Starry Catering will be available. Enter to win door prize drawings.

College funding workshop set

TROY — Parents of high schools students are encouraged to attend a free college funding workshop at The Rec at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Families will learn about college payment options, grants and scholarships.

Ninja warrior challenge planned

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is hosting a Ninja Obstacle Challenge for everyone age 5 and up on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Dan Arnold, American Ninja Warrior competitor, will set up the course and judge the competitors.

The challenge will take place at L.T. Ball located at 575 N. Hyatt St. with youth registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and adult registration at 12:30 p.m. The cost for each participant is $15.00. To register for this event in advance, visit the TMCS office at 3 E. Main St. or go to

The top five youth competitors with the fastest time in all three youth divisions will be invited to compete in the youth finals. The top 15 adult competitors will compete in the adult finals.

A limited amount of t-shirts will be available at event for $10. Food will also be available for sale.

Fisher wins title

TROY — Emma Rose Fisher-Rowe of Troy recently won the American Magestics State Pageant winning the title, Little Miss Ohio in Athens on Sept. 3.

Emma Rose will go to nationals this summer. She also received three side awards: Cover Model, Talent & Swimsuit and will appear on the cover of the Nationals Magazine for American Magestics.
