Family thankful for community’s support

To the Editor:

We would like to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers and support during the recent unexpected death of John Apple.

There were so many people that came to visit, shared stories and brought food to share. We appreciated the flowers, memorabilia and donations that were sent. Each and every one of you were greatly appreciated.

The Piqua Fire Department ambulance crew and police were very kind and supportive.

Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home and Ed Ellis couldn’t have been nicer. The Covington Memorial Cemetery staff were very caring and respectful. The American Legion was a great place to gather after the services.

It is amazing how one life touched so many people and how all those people came together to support one another and celebrate that life as it ended so soon.

Our family will be forever grateful to all of you.
