WEST MILTON — Unemployed? Need assistance finding a job — or simply finding a better job? Milton-Union Public Library is bringing back employment specialist Jeff Steele of Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley for a Community Employment Workshop.

Drop in anytime between noon and 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Bring a resume and be prepared to leave with job leads.

Steele has a mental health background with an associate’s degree in mental health and a bachelor’s degree in human development. Steele worked for Upper Valley Medical Center for 16 years on the child, adolescent and adult units. He has since worked at the David L. Brown Youth Center in Troy and ran a homeless shelter called the Buckeye House before he took the job of Employment Specialist for the Goodwill Easter Seals Community Employment Program.

Steele will be bringing job leads pulled from Miami County, Vandalia and Sidney from the last three weeks. He will also be able to provide information for any client with a criminal background that explains the Federal Bonding Program to them and gives a list of employers who might be willing to hire them.

The specialist will even connect people with resources for free rides and help craft a resume that pertains to their work history. Steele will take opportunities to answer questions as well, including interview skills and schooling.
