TROY — The Rec youth center of Troy will reprise its successful Day of Gratitude event, this year focusing on the city of Troy’s educators on Sept. 23.
The event will be held Sunday, Sept. 23 from 2-6 p.m. for all of city of Troy’s teachers for a day of fun at the center.
Teachers can bring their families to enjoy the Troy Rec. The organization will also host a contest for attendees to vote for their favorite school building. The Rec will then donate $500 to the winning school building as part of their annual gratitude event.
Director Kelly Synder said the event is free for all teachers within the city of Troy.
The Rec began the Day of Gratitude event last fall and paid homage to Miami County’s first responders, which was a resounding success, Snyder said. The annual event will change the group it honors each year, Snyder said.
Activities include refreshments, carnival games, a bounce house, open gameroom, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
