TROY — The Troy veterans’ organizations — The American Legion, VFW and AMVETS — will host a hog roast from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the VFW Post 5436, 2220 LeFevre Road, Troy.
This informal dinner will feature free food and information on the largest veterans’ organizations in America.
If you are a veteran, or a close relative of a veteran — such as a father, brother, sister or grandchild you are invited to attend this event and may be eligible to join one of the organizations. The organizations invite you to learn about how you can serve your community by becoming a member.
The American Legion Post 43, AMVETS Post 88 and VFW Post 5436 and their auxiliaries and sons units are nonprofit veterans’ service organizations comprised of eligible veterans and/or relatives of a veteran who served honorably. Each post is dedicated to veterans’ service, legislative advocacy and community service programs.
