CLEVELAND — Heritage Ohio presented the Main Street Business of the Year award to Noah and Meggin Walkup of Purebred Coffee Co. at their annual Preservation and Revitalization Awards ceremony held Tuesday, Oct. 23 in downtown Cleveland.
The Main Street Business of the Year award was created to celebrate those businesses that clearly embody the values promoted by the Ohio Main Street Program. Heritage Ohio’s independent award selection committee was quick to recognize Purebred Coffee Co. with this award.
“Many really great businesses were considered,” said Joyce Barrett, the executive director of Heritage Ohio. “What really stood out was their understanding of cross-promotion and the impact that has on not only their business, but the downtown as a whole.”
Purebred Coffee Co. opened in downtown Troy in November 2017 and has succeeded not only in providing excellent customer service, but in encouraging community members to increase their activity downtown. They regularly offer special deals in collaboration with neighboring businesses and actively support Troy Main Street by participating in community events. The whole-hearted involvement that Purebred Coffee Co. has invested in downtown Troy as a new business really stands out.
As Ohio’s official historic preservation and Main Street organization, Heritage Ohio fosters economic development and sustainability through preservation of historic buildings, revitalization of downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts, and promotion of local tourism.
