FORT BENNING, Ga. — A 2011 Troy High School and recent Wright State University graduate, George Stubbs, was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, United States Army following his Officer’s Candidate School graduation at Ft. Benning, Ga. on Oct. 23. Lt. Stubbs holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Leadership and will be continuing his Army career at Ft. Benning in Military Intelligence/Infantry. He graduated OCS, placing first in his platoon and in the top 10 of Bravo Company, earning placement on the Commandant’s List as a Distinguished Graduate. Lt. Stubbs’ older brother, US Air Force Captain, R. Copeland Stubbs III (Troy High School 2008) received the “First Salute” while Stubbs’ parents and grandfather, Russell Stubbs, had the honor of pinning on the Officer Bars. He is the son of Jim and Jill Stubbs and Sharon and Bill Emerick, all of Troy.
