TROY — Since Troy City Schools Board of Education member Stephen Lucas announced his resignation June 9, the board has collected applications from interested individuals to fill the vacancy.
The five applications that came in were due by June 19. Those were from city of Troy Project Manager Michael Ham; principal of OneTrust Financial Tom Kleptz; attorney at Rion, Rion & Rion Brad Anderson; Thomas Brinkman; and chairman of TriVista Ted Ristoff.
Superintendent Eric Herman said the next step is to start the interview process.
“There’s really not too much to do next,” he said. “We’ll set up interview times with everyone so the board can determine who they think would be the best fit.”
Herman added the individual who is selected to finish Lucas’ term will have to run for re-election in November along with the other two board member seats up for re-election.
The position will be filled by the July 13 regularly scheduled board meeting.
