MIAMI COUNTY — The Board of Miami County Commissioners approved hardware upgrades to prepare for security upgrades for the Miami County Courthouse and Miami County Safety Building during their meeting on Tuesday morning.

The commissioners approved Enervise of Cincinnati to make changes to the access control system at the courthouse at a cost not to exceed $31,123. Commissioners’ Clerk Leigh Williams said those changes would include “adding and re-configuring entry door security hardware, card readers, and surveillance cameras to accommodate new security procedures.”

The commissioners then approved for Enervise to do similar access control system changes at the Safety Building at a cost not to exceed $15,085. That work will also including adding and re-configuring entry door security hardware and card readers in preparation for the new security procedures.

The county is also required to use Enervise for both of these projects due to the county’s current maintenance agreement with Enervise that stipulates Enervise must perform all additions and changes to the access control system.

In other business, the commissioners set the date to receive bids for the Ross Road resurfacing project for July 23 at 9:05 a.m. Miami County Engineer Paul Huelskamp said that project will be funded by approximately 72 percent of Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) funds and 28 percent local funds, which breaks down to approximately $252,000 OPWC funding and $98,000 county funding.

The commissioners then authorized an agreement for fiscal services and also an agreement for program coordination services between the Miami County Family and Children First Council and the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services. The effective date for both of those agreements is July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The reimbursement under the agreements are $2,490 per quarter and $7,623 per quarter, respectively.

The commissioners ended their meeting by authorizing credit card expenditures for the commissioners’ office for the third quarter of 2019.
