Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:

Feb. 9

BEERS ON THE DASH: A deputy passed through the Royal Inn Motel parking lot in Troy and noticed a Ford F-150 occupied by two people sitting in the back corner of the lot. The deputy made a consensual encounter with the occupants and noticed in plain view an open Milwaukee’s Best Beer car sitting on the dash board in front of the passenger. The deputy identified the occupants and after a short conversation the officer requested consent to search the vehicle which was given. No other contraband was found.

PARAPHERNALIA: A deputy responded to the 1000 block of Fox Run, Troy, for a unruly juvenile complaint where the reporting party’s son was possibly using marijuana. A marijuana bong was found and the juvenile was issued a summons for drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 10

TRUCK BREAK-IN: A deputy was dispatched to the 7000 block of State Route 41, Alcony, on a theft complaint.

The reporting party stated sometime between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. someone had taken items from his truck. He stated that he went to start his truck and noticed that the dash board on his truck had been pried off in an attempt to take his radio. He then began to look around the truck and noticed multiple items taken.

He stated that he had left his passenger side door unlocked. The deputy asked him if he had any suspects and he stated he did not.

Feb. 11

SCHOOL ISSUE: A deputy was dispatched to the Upper Valley Career Center and spoke to the Principal Joe Davis about an issue with a couple of students.

ACCIDENT WITH DUS: A deputy was dispatched to6764 Bethelville Drive, New Carlisle on an injury accident. Richard Hawkins stated he was involved in the accident. The other driver, later identified as Eric Bailey, was claiming of injuries and taken to the Huber Heights ED by Bethel EMS.

While speaking with Richard, he stated that Eric claimed he was suspended and asked if he could tell officers that someone else was driving. Richard informed him that he would not do that. Richard stated that Eric then got in his vehicle and drove it back to his residence at 6650 Bethelville Dr. The deputy responded to 6650 Bethelville Drive and noticed The deputy then responded to the Huber Heights ED and spoke with Eric. Eric stated that he had just pulled out of his driveway and headed south on Bethelville Drive when an Aqua Falls truck pulled out in front of him and hit him. The officer ran Eric’s information through LEADS and it came back that his driving status was failure to reinstate. The deputy issued Eric a citation for failure to reinstate and informed him of his mandatory court date.

OVI: A deputy was dispatched to the Casstown Clark Road, Casstown area on a suspicious complaint.

The deputy located the listed vehicle off the roadway stuck in the field.

After further investigation, the deputy located the driver who was identified as the defendant Trenton Tigner. Mr. Tigner was found to be under the influence and was taken into custody for OVI.
