Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Greenville Avenue, Ludlow Falls, on a theft complaint and made contact with the victim, who stated a tow dolly was taken sometime between Feb. 17 at 10 p.m. and 3 a.m Feb. 18.
PILLS PILFERED: A deputy met with an individual in regards to her husband’s prescription medication being stolen from the 1700 block of Peters Road, Troy. The deputy was informed the pills were stolen while individuals were in the residence.
TAX FRAUD: A deputy spoke with a Piqua resident in regards to an identity theft.
He advised he found out his personal information was used to file a false tax return. He was contacted by the IRS about the incident and informed he needed to file a report with local law enforcement. This case is closed.
CHILD ENDANGERING: A deputy was dispatched to Estate Drive, Tipp City . After speaking with all parties involved, Brenda Smith, was charged with two counts of child endangering, domestic violence and felonious assault. She was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
SUSPECTED OVERDOSE: A deputy was dispatched to 2472 S. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy on an assist squad. While enroute dispatch advised a 21-year-old female was not breathing. The deputy was also informed CPR was in progress and drug overdose was suspected. At the conclusion of the incident Rachel Celia had passed and Adam Plantz was taken into custody. Mr. Plantz was incarcerated on Drug Abuse and Drug Abuse Instruments.
STRAY BULLET: A resident in the 5500 block of Rangeline Road, Covington called in to advise that a bullet had been shot at her house. The reporting party showed a deputy where a bullet had struck her back door and the molding around it. She stated it happened sometime today however she had not been home since approximately 9:30 a.m. She does not allow anyone to hunt her property and has not seen anyone
hunting in the area. Deputies were unable to recover the bullet itself, and have no suspects at this time. A report is being completed for her insurance company. She was advised to call back if she sees anyone hunting in the area and feels they are doing so unsafely.
RADIOS MISSING:A reporting party called to report a burglary at the Miami County Amateur Radio Club, 728 Harrison Street, Troy . After investigation, several radios were stolen dating back to November of last year. This case is pending.
DOG POISONED: A deputy was dispatched to the 1600 block of Casstown Sidney Road, Casstown, in reference to a neighbor complaint. The reporting party said he believes his dog has been poisoned and just asked the a report be filed to document it.
ACCIDENT WITH INJURY: A deputy responded to the 8200 block of Walnut-Grove Road, in Elizabeth Township for a accident with unknown injuries. While on scene, a deputy observed a vehicle in a ditch on the south side of the listed location.
The operator of the vehicle was a George Szima Jr. Care Flight transported George to Miami Valley Hospital. He remains in stable condition.
ONE ARRESTED AT McDONALDS: A deputy responded to the McDonald’s in West Milton to assist West Milton Police in a disturbance. At the conclusions of the incident Brandon Roark was arrested for Drug Possession, Drug Abuse Instruments, Falsification, Driving Under Suspension, and also had a warrant out of Kettering. Kristina Thompson was issued a citation for Wrongful Entrustment.
WATCH MISSING: A deputy responded to the 7000 block of Troy-Sidney Road, Piqua and spoke with a complainant in reference to the theft of a watch.
BURGLARY: A deputy was dispatched to the 9500 block of Montgomery County Line Rd. on a report of a burglary.
