Fire at Hole Hunter deemed suspicious

TROY — The fire at Hole Hunter Driving range on South County-Road 25-A, Troy, is being investigated as a possible arson, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

The Troy Fire Department and the Miami County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fire that was first reported by a passer-by around 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Miami County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dave Duchak said detectives are working with an arson investigator to determine the cause of the fire. Duchak said if anyone saw anything of interest to contact the sheriff’s office or Miami County Communication Center’s non emergency line at 440-9911.

According to fire investigator Aaron Simmons, the estimate of damages is approximately $70,000. Simmons said the fire began in the back shop portion of the building. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze around 20 minutes. No one was injured.
