Staudt sentenced for theft of youth league funds

COVINGTON — On Monday, Jack Staudt III, 42, of Covington, was sentenced to three years probation for stealing funds from a local athletic youth organization in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

In May, Staudt was found guilty by Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Gee. Staudt was charged with fifth degree felony theft of funds from the Covington Little Buccs football and cheerleading organization in 2014. Staudt, a former Miami County Communication Center dispatch supervisor, served as the organization’s treasurer. According to court records, Staudt must pay $3,580 in restitution and abide by a 9 p.m to 6 p.m. curfew while on community control.
