‘Sold’ to be screened

TROY — A free movie screening of “Sold,” and candlelight vigil will begin with the movie at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Mayflower Arts Center.

The movie is to raise awareness of human trafficking. The candlelight vigil will follow the movie.

TROY — The Fulton Farms Sweet Corn will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at the Fulton Farms Market, 2393 State Route 202 between Troy and Tipp City.

During the two-day event, visitors can enjoy fresh-roasted sweet corn from Fulton Farms, food trucks and ice cream vendors, free giant jumpys and children’s games, a “buy local” craft area, live music, corn shucking and corn-on-the-cob eating contests, Idle-Hour Ranch animals and more.

Hayner to offer concert

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will celebrate its 40th anniversary at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27 with a concert on the lawn at 301 W. Main St.

The free concert will feature the Columbus based band, CAAMP. This band is an indie-folk band with musical influences such as Ray LaMontange, Justin Vernon and Trampled by Turtles.

Leadership Troy alumni event set

TROY — A scholarship fundraiser for Leadership Troy alumni will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Signature Lounge, 845 W. Market St., Troy.

The evening will include craft cocktails, heavy appetizers and local celebrity bartenders. All proceeds from this event will fund scholarships for future attendees of Leadership Troy. The ticket price for this event is $50 per person, which includes appetizers and two drink tickets. Additional drink tickets will be available for purchase that evening.

This event is open to Leadership Troy Alumni only, however non-alumni spouses may attend.

Photography hike upcoming

COVINGTON — The Miami County Park District will hold its Biodiversity Photography Hike at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185, Covington.

Help document existing biodiversity in your parks and monitor changes through photography. Experienced and amateur photographers welcomed.

Auditions planned at Edison

PIQUA — The Edison State Community College Stagelight Players will hold open auditions for Joseph Kesselring’s “Arsenic & Old Lace,” at 7 p.m. Sept. 6-7 in the Robinson Theater at Edison State’s Piqua campus.
