Grandma’s Kitchen closed for season

WEST MILTON — Grandma’s Kitchen at Hoffman United Methodist Church in West Milton will be closed until late March. Organizers look forward to sharing with participants again after the winter weather.

An opening date will be announced at a later time.

SWCD scholarship applicants sought

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami Soil and Water Conservation District is offering two $750 scholarship awards for the purpose of continuing higher education at a two or four year college or university.

Qualifications for applying students include:

• Must be a Miami County, Ohio resident.

• Must be an Agriculture or Natural Resources major.

• Must be enrolled for fall quarter/semester of 2017.

• May be a prior Miami SWCD scholarship recipient.

The award will be used towards the student’s tuition and fees and will be processed through the scholarship office of the chosen school.

Send completed applications, along with high school or college transcripts and three letters of recommendations from three references listed on the application form to: Miami SWCD Scholarship Committee, 1330 N. County Road 25-A; Suite C, Troy, OH 45373.

Deadline for applications to be postmarked and recommendations is Friday, March 17.

Tree seedling sale underway

MIAMI COUNTY — Orders will be accepted for the 2017 Miami SWCD Annual Tree Seedling Sale now through March 17. Anyone may order from 23 species of one- to three-year-old bare-root trees, two choices of ground cover and five choices of perennial pots.

On April 11-12, stop by the Miami County Fairgrounds to pick them up.
