Learn about roses
TROY — Join Ohio State University Extension staff from 6-9 p.m. May 24 for a session “All About Roses” where participants will discover a little history, differences in rose types, care, maintenance, selection, pruning, the best roses for the Midwest and what new roses are in development.
Participants will receive a rose to take home.
The event will be held at the Elizabeth Township Community Center, 5760 E. Walnut Grove Road, Troy. The cost is $30 per person or $35 per couple, with only one rose. Master Gardeners discount price is $20. Pre-registration is due by May 18. Late registrations, add $5 and are not guaranteed a rose. Make checks payable to OSU Extension and mail to 201 W. Main St, Troy, OH 45373. Cash, check or credit card accepted in the office.

YMCA offers track club
PIQUA — The Miami County YMCA is offering a Track Club on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning May 30 at the Piqua High School Alexander Stadium.
This club is for youth six years of age to 16 years of age. Participants may choose to learn sprints, distance, and long jump, and then have the option to compete in track meets at Yellow Springs.
The cost is $35 for members and $67 for non-members.
