Win tickets to Ghost Tours of Troy

TROY — Troy Main Street and the Ghost Tours of Troy have teamed up with downtown businesses to offer guests the opportunity to take a ghostly tour of downtown Troy — for free. Visit any of the seven participating locations to guess which Halloween themed song is represented at the business’s counter. Visitors can guess at all locations for up to seven chances of winning two tickets to the Ghost Tours of Troy.

“Troy Main Street is so excited to be working alongside the Ghost Tours of Troy for this contest,” said Nicole Loy, executive director of Troy Main Street. “They do such a fantastic job showcasing the haunted history of the downtown.”

The contest runs through Oct. 18 with the winner being announced on Friday, Oct. 19. The winner will have the option of choosing a tour date of Oct. 26 or Oct. 27.

Participating businesses include Around About Books, Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Co., Expressions of the Home, Pachamama Market, Polished, The 3 Weird Sisters Studio, and Towne Valley Gifts.

S0uper Bowl fundraiser set

TIPP CITY — Tickets are available for the Souper Bowl III, a fundraiser for the Tippecanoe Historical Society.

The event is planned for 5-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Zion Lutheran Church, 11 W. Walnut St., Tipp City.

For $20, the buyer will receive a soup bowl to keep, handmade by local artist Sally Watson. Also their choice of potato, vegetable beef or chicken corn soup and cornbread, cookies and drink.

Tickets are available at the Historical Society Museum on the southeast corner of 3rd and Walnut streets in Tipp; Tipp Monroe Community Services, 3 E. Main St.; or from any historical society member.

Road closed

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP — Mill Road will be closed between Lehman Road and Sanders Road through Nov. 9 for a bridge replacement by the Miami County Engineer’s. The road is closed 24 hours a day and the work is located 700 feet east of Lehman Road.
