Annual dinner announced

CASSTOWN — Miami East Local Schools will hold its 31st annual Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at the Miami East High School cafeteria.

Park in the back of the building and enter through the back door. To be eligible to attend, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in the Miami East School District.

For reservations, call 335-7070, Ext. 3001, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Deadline for reservations is Nov. 30.

Y offers SNL event

PIQUA — The Miami County YMCA Piqua Branch is offering a Saturday Night Live Event on Saturday, November 10 for youth in kindergarten through sixth grade. This will be a fun-filled night beginning with watching the Piqua Holiday Horse Parade on the YMCA porch. Following the parade there will be swimming, gym games, and the Youth Center. Pizza and lemonade will be served at the Youth Center.

Drop off begins at 6:30 p.m. (arrive before the Horse Parade) and pick up is at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Register at the Piqua branch or over the phone at 773-9622. The cost is $10 for members and $16 for non-members.

Edison salutes Armed Forces

PIQUA — The Edison State Community College Athletic Department will honor all members of the armed forces and civil servants during Charger Country Armed Forces Appreciation Night at the home basketball games on Friday, Nov. 9, versus Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Past and present servicemen and women are invited to attend the games free of charge. The women’s game begins at 5:30 p.m. and men’s at 7:30 p.m. The Color Guard of the Veteran’s Elite Tribute Squadron of Piqua will march during the national anthem prior to the women’s game.

Edison State recognizes all members of the armed forces and civil servants as citizens and students, and is honored by of the level of diversity, experience, and academic excellence they bring to campus.

Edison State’s Office of Veterans Services affords veterans and their families with a single point of contact. Providing academic, referral, and personal support services, the Office of Veterans Services aims to help ease access to higher education, foster success and build community.

Thanksgiving camp offered

MIAMI COUNTY —The Miami County YMCA will be holding two days of fun and games this Thanksgiving break. Participants will be heading to 36 Skate Club and hanging at the YMCA Youth Center on Nov. 21 and playing at Jumpy’s and swimming on Nov 23.

The day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Piqua and Robinson branches for youth in grades kindergarten through sixth grade.Transportation to events is provided, just make sure to bring a packed lunch each day, a swimsuit for swimming, socks for skating, and snack/game money.
