TROY — Brower Stationers, a Troy owned and operated business specializing in office supplies, educational materials and art supplies, has announced its National Certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
“It was important to me to acquire the WBE certification so that corporations and government agencies who are required to diversify their suppliers can purchase from Brower’s and fulfill that obligation,” said Lori Brower, president.
“Additionally, I was thrilled to learn from the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council that Brower’s is now the first certified WBE in Troy. I encourage all area women-owned businesses to consider getting this certification if they desire to expand their business,” Brower said.
WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Councilis a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs.
