Nov. 18

OVI: Clark County dispatch transferred a reckless operation of a vehicle call to the Miami County dispatch center. A citizen reported following a vehicle that was driving in the left lane and was all over the road. The citizen also observed the vehicle running off the road and driving through yards. The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence.

Nov. 20

DUS: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for failing to stop at the red light at at the intersection of N. Miami and State Route 571 in the Village of West Milton, Union Township,

The driver was identified as Justin Keister. He was found to be operating the vehicle while under a non-compliance suspension. He was cited and released to a licensed driver.

BREAK-IN: The homeowner in the 7800 block of Staley Road, Tipp City, reported his home was burglarized.

Nov. 21

UNDERAGE: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for an equipment violation on N. County-Road 25-A, Troy. After investigation the driver Julio Deleon was cited for no operator’s license and two headlights required and his passenger Breanna Peters was cited for underage consumption.

MARIJUANA: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for an equipment violation in the 6000 block of State Route 36, Covington. The driver was identified as, Mark Lindsey and passenger as, Sara Fletcher. While speaking to them, the deputy could smell an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. When Mr. Lindsey opened his center console the deputy observed a pill bottle with no label. The bottle had marijuana inside it and Mr. Lindsey handed it to the deputy when asked about it. He also stated there was a bag of marijuana in the console which the deputy recovered during the search. Mr. Lindsey was issued a citation and released. The marijuana was placed in an evidence locker at the Sheriff’s Office.

Nov. 22

OVI: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a moving violation on Echo Lake Drive, Piqua. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as the defendant Tammy Finley. After further investigation Ms. Finley was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for OVI.

DUS: A deputy conducted a traffic stop on I-75 north near the 85 mile marker. The driver, John Moorman was found to have a suspended license. A roadside interview was conducted with the vehicle occupants. The occupants confessed to having heroin addictions and were heading home from Dayton, where they had purchased and used heroin. A consent search was performed on the vehicle. No illegal items were found.
