ASSIST SQUAD: A deputy was dispatched to the 6000 block of S. Karns Rd. in Union Twp in regards to a 5 week old choking. While enroute Dispatch relayed the parents were driving to Still Water Golf Course to meet Union EMS. Upon arrival, the infant was breathing normal. Union EMS transported the infant to Children’s Hospital for further medical treatment.
ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A younger male possibly lab mix dog was found at the 2000 block of W. State Route 571, Tipp City. The dog’s body condition is very poor and it appears to be very dehydrated. The dog is severely underweight and gums are pale. The hips, ribs and backbone are all visible. The dog also has an infection on the skin and cut on its head. There are no tags visible on the dog and no food/water at the residence for the dog. After speaking to prosecutor Kendall, the deputy seized the dog. The dog is currently being taken care of by the Miami County Animal Shelter and will be getting medical attention from Dr. Davis Monday.
THEFT: The complainant reported her son’s I-Phone was stolen while he was at a swim meet at the Troy YMCA.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: A deputy assisted Troy Police at a breaking and entering scene by deploying K9 Bear on a building search on Kings Chapel Drive North.
THEFT: A deputy responded to the 6100 block of Scarff Road, Bethel Twp. in reference to a theft complaint. A riding lawn mower along with a push mower were stolen from a shed between December 10, 2017 and December 17.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE:Reporting party advised the passenger side window of his vehicle had been broken out at some point last night or early this morning as it was parked in front of his residence in the Paris Court Trailer Park in the 10000 block of North County Road 25-A, Piqua.
Another vehicle parked on the other side of his trailer that belonged to his neighbor had the rear window busted out. Its possible the suspect thought that both vehicles belonged to the victim. No other damage was observed in the trailer park.
On the above date, Upper Valley Career Center staff was advised of a student who may be under the influence of marijuana. After speaking to the student, they admitted to smoking marijuana before coming to school. After searching the subjects book bag a tiny clear sandwich bag of marijuana was found. The student was charged with possession drugs, this matter is closed.
MENACING: Deputies responded to the 3300 block of Peterson Road, Lostcreek Twp., in reference to a menacing complaint. At the conclusion, a male was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Miami County Jail.
WARRANT: Robert Meek Jr. called into the Miami County Dispatch Center to report a civil dispute. After further investigation a report was generated on the incident, and he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Miami County.
POSSESSION: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a lanes of travel on northbound Interstate 75, Piqua. The driver was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and lanes of travel. The passenger was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.
Deputy Shell and I were dispatched to the 5000 block of State Route 41, Elizabeth Twp. for a domestic violence. Upon further investigation, Daniel Roweton was arrested for domestic violence, assault, two counts of disrupting public services, resisting arrest, and public indecency. Mr. Roweton was also cited for possession of marijuana.
OVI: A deputy made a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the 1800 block of South County Road 25-A, Troy. At the conclusion of the investigation the driver was taken into custody for OVI, possession of marijuana, possession drug paraphernalia, and open container in a motor vehicle.
DISTURBANCE: Deputies witnessed two individuals arguing in the parking lot of Motel 6 at 1260 S. Dorset Road, Troy.
THEFT: A deputy responded to the Marathon gas station, Pleasant Hill, on a theft complaint. After further investigation Amber Larsh was arrested for theft.
THEFT: A theft was reported in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue, Bradford.
JUVENILE POSSESSION: A deputy initiated a traffic stop for failing to possess a working rear license plate light in the 3600 block of 3637 Tipp Cowlesville Road in Monroe Township. A deputy detected a very strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside of the car and also observed a marijuana cigarette resting behind the driver’s left ear.
The 16 year old driver exited the driver seat, and the deputy asked him what was behind his left ear, he stated “It’s a joint.” The deputy then seized the marijuana cigarette as evidence and conducted a search of his person before placing him in the rear of the patrol car. The juvenile passenger was also questioned and detained. Both were read their Miranda Warning.
Both juveniles told the deputy that they put their money together and bought a small bag of marijuana. The driver admitted to supplying the rolling papers. Both juveniles were instructed to call their parents and advise them of the situation.
Parents showed up to the scene and took custody of their children. The driver received citations for the equipment violation, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. His passenger was cited for possession of marijuana.
