MIAMI COUNTY — Food, flying, and downtown building tours will on tap this weekend in downtown Troy.

Troy Main Street will host its final Downtown Farmers Market and its annual Taste of Troy. The day will conclude with the second annual “Second Story Secrets” tour to benefit Troy Community Works. Be sure to also keep an eye on the city skies as dozens of vintage aircraft “come home” for the annual WACO Historical Society’s Fly-In.

Taste of Troy on Tap

The Taste of Troy will be held from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Prouty Plaza and along West Main Street. The final Dowtown Farmers Market will be open at 9 a.m. and will extend its hours to 2 p.m. to coincide with the Taste of Troy.

This year, more than 17 Troy restaurants are participating including Troy’s new Loudmouth Burgers featuring its Troy Burger and The Duck Wagon’s Ducky’s snowballs and jambalaya. Other familiar favorites include Basil’s on Market’s smoked Gouda pasta and cheese with bacon, The Caroline’s bourbon mushrooms or ahi tuna with Asian slaw and La Fiesta’s chimichangas.

Be sure to treat yourself to dessert with Brittney’s Cake’s Neapolitan cake, The Cakery’s mini buckeyes, Bakehouse Bread and Cookie Company’s cookies, Al’s Pizza’s cinnamon sticks or Winan’s famous pecan “wurtles.”

Other offerings include: Dunaway’s famous roast beef sandwiches, Little York Tavern’s wings, La Piazza’s house salad and sausage sliders, MoJo’s Bar and Grille’s Monte Cristo ham, and Olive Oasis samples.

The event will also feature its first beer and wine garden on Prouty Plaza where foodies can select craft beers and local wines to pair with the event’s wide range of food offerings. The beer and wine garden is sponsored by Country Concert and will feature live music by Square Roots.

“This is an exciting year for us with a new footprint for the event, with food booths lining Main Street, between Plum and the traffic circle, and of course the beer and wine garden,” said Stephanie Silk, marketing and events coordinator for Troy Main Street in a press release. “The Taste of Troy is always a vibrant and fun event for our community and we hope that with the new layout, restaurant line up, and the addition of the beer and wine garden, more people will be drawn to our downtown to enjoy all that Troy has to offer.”

Taste of Troy tickets are $1 per ticket.
