TROY — This is the seventh year for the Troy Kids’ Triathlon, which will take place on July 19, at Troy Aquatic Park, 460 W. Staunton Drive.
Open to ages 4-14, the triathlon consists of a swim at Troy Aquatic Park and bike through City Park, as well as biking on the bike path and a run on Troy Memorial Track for older age groups.
• Ages 4-6: swim 25 yards, bike .88 mile, run 1/4 mile
• Ages 7-8: swim 50 yards, bike 2 miles, run 1/2 mile
• Ages: 9-10 swim 100 yards, bike 3 miles, run 3/4 mile
• Ages: 11-12 swim 150 yards, bike 4 miles, run 1 mile
• Ages: 13-14 swim 200 yards, bike 5 miles, run 1.25 mile
The swim is water wing, kickboard, flotation-friendly if needed. The bike is training wheel-friendly if needed. Helmets are required. There will be a limited supply of helmets available, provided by theTroy Fire Department.
Participants receive a T-shirt, Finisher’s Medal, post-race food awards for top three boys/girls in each age division.
Pre-registration is $20, with additional sibling costing $15. Race day sign-up is $20 for everyone. Financial assistance is available. Race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the first Race (ages 4-6) will begin at 7:30. As the ages go up, the start time will be later. All proceeds go to CASA/Gal of Miami County, an organization that works for the abused and neglected children of Miami County (www.miamicountycasa.org).
