FLC celebrates advent
TROY — The community is invited to join First Lutheran Church for worship services on Sunday, Dec. 11. Traditional service is at 8 a.m., with a contemporary service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion will not be celebrated this weekend.
Dan Reke will be the guest this weekend. His sermon will be based on the Gospel of St. Matthew, chapter 11, it is entitled, “Something better than Christmas.”
At 9:15 a.m. there will be Faith Formation classes for every age.
Mark your calendars for Christmas Eve on Saturday, Dec. 24, for services at 7 and 11 p.m. Both services will share the wonderful Christmas Story, carols both old and new, and have Holy Communion. There will not be services on Sunday, Dec. 25.
Church to host live nativity drive-thru
TROY — Join Troy View Church of God for a different view on Christmas this holiday season. A live Nativity will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec.10 at the church. Stay in the warmth of your own car as you either listen on CD or iPhone by visiting the TroyView.com website. Travel through nine different scenes and contemplate the real meaning of Christmas.
The event is free, but donations will be accepted. The church is located at 1770 N. County Rd. 25-A, next to El Sombrero. Please enter from the north to keep the flow of traffic going on 25-A.
Spaghetti dinner fundraiser planned
FLETCHER — A spaghetti dinner fundraiser is planned for Saturday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m.
The meal, to be held at the Fletcher United Methodist Church, 205 S. Walnut St., Fletcher, is to benefit the Francis family who recently lost their home in a fire.
A freewill donation will be accepted with all proceeds going to the Francis family.
Community invited to Messy Church
TROY — You’re invited! First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market St, Troy, invites you to “Messy Church” from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 18, a casual and fun way for families to worship God together.
Join in for some fun and “messy” activities, a short celebration service and a light dinner. Messy Church is for people at all stages of their faith journey and of any age and is held on the third Sunday of every month. Please use Canal Street entrance.
Community invited to candlelight service
PLEASANT HILL — First Brethren Church invites the public to their annual candlelight Christmas Eve service.
All are invited for a night filled with music, drama, and the Good News of the Savior’s birth at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 24.
The church is located at 210 N. Church St., Pleasant Hill.
Christmas Eve services set
TIPP CITY — Experience a timely message of hope at Ginghamsburg Church during the annual Christmas Eve candlelight worship celebrations on Dec. 24 at 1, 2:30, 4, 5:30, 7, 8:30 or 10 p.m. American Sign Language will be offered at all Tipp City Campus celebrations through 8:30 p.m. All celebrations will be available to live stream at www.ginghamsburg.org/live.
Enjoy complimentary cookies, coffee and punch throughout the day. The specialty coffee shop will also be open.
For children, Ginghamsburg Kids will feature The Joy Story for ages 6 weeks through fifth grade at all worship times through 7 p.m. at the Tipp City Campus.
