Party and concert to be held

FLETCHER — The Fletcher United Methodist Church invites all to join them for a parking lot party and concert from 6-8 p.m. today. Bring chairs and a covered dish to share. Hot dogs, drinks, and table service will be provided. Inflatables will be on site for the kids. Be sure to decorate your vehicle for your favorite football team and enjoy the music of Nothin Left, a high-energy Christian rock band from Lima, Ohio.

Blood drive planned

TROY — The Troy Church of the Brethren will host a blood drive Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 3-7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room, 1431 West Main St. Everyone who registers to donate will get a colorful pair of socks – a new gift from Community Blood Center that “knocks our socks off.” Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at or call 1-800-388-GIVE.

The “Saving Lives Knocks Our Socks Off” campaign marks the first time CBC had given away a pair of socks as a donor gift. The design features the CBC blood drop logo and a colorful dot pattern representing the different blood types. Everyone who registers to donate Monday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Sept. 30 at any CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood drives will receive a pair.

Zion to hold annual garage sale

TIPP CITY — Zion Lutheran Church, 14 W. Walnut St. in Tipp City, is holding its annual Mum Festival Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22.

Proceeds from the sale have traditionally supported many local, regional and international non-profit agencies, such as Needy Basket. The half-price sale and the $2 bag sale begin at 5 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Anyone who would like to donate items that are in good repair or working order ( no clothing or TVs can be accepted ) may bring them to the church on Sept. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. and on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19, from 8:30 to noon and from 6-8 p.m.

Free gospel concert set

WEST MILTON — West Milton Nazarene Church is offering an evening of gospel music featuring the Morse Family Gospel Singers at 6 p.m. on Sept. 24. The event is free and a freewill offering will be taken. The church is located at 151 W. Baker Road.

The family has been singing together for a long time and Bill Morse has been playing the piano for more than 50 years.

Purse auction tickets on sale

TROY — Enjoy a night out with friends while supporting a good cause, Thursday, Oct. 5, from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Crystal Room, 845 W. Market St., Troy.

The evening includes an Italian buffet and dessert bar, a private party boutique, silent and live auction of purses, games and prizes, as well as a talk by local author and speaker, Christina Ryan Claypool.

Tickets are on sale now until Wednesday, Sept. 27, for $40 at, or at Anna’s Closet, 1405 S. County Road 25-A, Troy. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event raises money for 15 of New Path Outreach Ministries’ programs that offer everything from food to medical equipment to Miami County families in need.

St. John’s plans craft show

TROY — St John’s United Church of Christ, 130 S. Walnut St. in Troy, will host a craft show and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10.

All vendors who would like to rent a space to sell items are asked to call (937) 405-7375. There will be hot dogs and chips and drinks for sale while people are shopping.
