Hoffman UMC craft show scheduled for Nov. 21

WEST MILTON — Hoffman United Methodist Church will hold its annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at the church activity center, located at 201 S. Main St., West Milton.

The event will feature 20-plus booths offering a wide variety of items, including jewelry, wood crafted items, candles accessory items for infants and toddlers, baked goods and more. The Methodist Women will also offer their homemade mince meat by the quart or pint and their homemade,ready to cook, pot pie.

The Hoffman Cafe’ will provide coffee and donuts, pop, sandwiches, homemade chicken corn soup, vegetable soup, and a variety of pie.

Community Thanksgiving celebration set

PLEASANT HILL — The Churches of Pleasant Hill invites you to join them for a Thanksgiving Celebration The service will be on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. It will be hosted by the United Church of Christ, 10 W. Monument Street, Pleasant Hill

There will be singing, special music, scripture reading. The Thanksgiving message will be given by Pastor Lynn Mercer, of the First Brethren Church. We trust you will come celebrate with us.

Wrongful imprisonment explored at Lifetree Café

TROY — The consequences of being too quick to judge will be examined at Lifetree Café on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at 7 p.m.

The program , titled “Wrongly Accused: A Rush to Judgment Destroys a Life,” features a filmed interview with Tim Masters, who spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

Masters tells how he was targeted as a suspect and how the justice system failed him. And what it was like to serve a life sentence as an innocent man. “I was a law abiding citizen. I gave up eight years of my life serving this country in the Navy. But there I was locked up for something I didn’t do, and people would shoot me if I tried to leave, ” says Masters.

Lifetree Café is located inside St John’s United Church of Christ at 130 S. Walnut St. Troy, Ohio. Use the Canal Street door for entrance to the café and the Walnut St. ramp for the handicapped entrance. This program is free and refreshments are served.

Turkey supper scheduled for Nov. 24

FLETCHER — The Fletcher United Methodist Church will host their annual turkey supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 24 at the church, 205 S. Walnut St., Fletcher.

The menu includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, pie, and drinks. Carry outs will be available from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Annual Fletcher UMC Turkey Trot set

FLETCHER — The annual Turkey Trot will be held at 8:00 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.

Participants will meet at the Coffee Bar in the Fletcher United Methodist Church to begin the 5K route. A map will be provided for walkers who wish to stay in town. Dogs are welcome as long as owners clean up after them. Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided upon returning to the Coffee Bar.

Christmas Cookie Shoppe to open

TROY — Delicious home-made holiday cookies and candy will be sold by the pound at the Christmas Cookie Shoppe, Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the First Place Christian Center, 16 W. Franklin across from the Troy First United Methodist Church.

The event is being sponsored by the Troy United Methodist Women. The proceeds will be used for mission work. For further information, please call the church, 335-2826.
